Ellie’s birthday party!

We had a very nice birthday party for Ellie last weekend.  All the grandparents came in, Auntie, and two families from Ellie’s school – just the perfect size, in my opinion.  Ellie wanted an ice cream cake, so I made a brownie and mint chocolate chip ice cream cake and frosted it with a chocolate ganache frosting.  It was delicious, but awfully hard to cut!  I also made an apple cake that was quite tasty, too.

Ellie had lots of help opening her presents.  Later when we found one more present that had been forgotten she said, “I wish Garvey was here to help me!”

My sister got Killy a set of “rocket balloons” and let me tell you, that is the best $2.50 that anyone has ever spent!  Hours of (loud) enjoyment were had…

I did face painting, and we set up twine and beads so the kids could make bracelets, but mostly everyone just ran around.  I was pretty darn proud of my new-found face painting ability!

David is an introvert, and this is how I found him a few moments after everyone went home:

It does sound like a nice party. I got Wes rocket balloons for his stocking. I’m glad to hear they are a hit. The next thing you need is stomp rockets. My kids (Wesley really) loves those too.
So you said to watch Avatar. I had never heard of it so I googled it to check it out and it looks pretty good. Then I got up the next morning and netflix sent me an email that said “recieved: Avatar” and I thought huh? Turns out Pao had rented it. He burned a copy but we haven’t watched it yet. Pretty funny huh?
