(That’s what we call Ellie all the time.)

Ellie turned four today – its so hard to believe!  She was born very quickly – i woke up in the middle of the night and she was born 2 hours and 15 minutes later.  Luckily I’d planned a natural childbirth, because there wouldn’t have been time for any other option -they didn’t even have time to fill the labor tub with water for me!

She was an 8 lb 4.5 oz perfect baby girl:

And, Ellie today, on her fourth birthday.  She fell this afternoon and split her lip, hence the band-aid, puffy eyes, and exhausted expression:

Her birthday party will be on Sunday, but I had to make (gluten-free) cupcakes tonight to celebrate a little!

I don’t know what we’re going to do about her lip… Its a very deep cut, but its not bleeding much and it doesn’t seem to hurt her – she was able to eat without any problems.  If I take her in, they’ll want to do one or two stitches and she will FREAK OUT.  So, I don’t know… she does very well at the doctor’s office usually, but having to get stitches on her face will change that forever.  I think we’ll see how it looks in the morning and then decide what to do.
