fun weekend ahead!
So, this weekend David and I are going to a wine festival to do cleanup as a school fundraiser. We get to hang out at the festival for a couple hours every day (free tickets), we get reimbursed for gas, meals are provided, and even the hotel room is provided. All for a few hours of trash pickup each evening! Plus, we’ll take care of a ton of volunteer hours for the school (parent co-op school, volunteer hours are required) and actually earn a good bit of money for the school. I’m so excited! I have not had a whole weekend with David sans kids in five years! The kids will be staying three nights at Grandmommy and Pop-Pop’s house… I really hope it goes well. They’re excited about it, but the longest they’ve ever been away from us is one night. Lily is going to spend the weekend at my parent’s house, we’ve been joking that it will be like 4-H camp for her! (My parents have 30 acres and she’ll be free all day each day to run and play in the creek and play with their dog, Trixie.)
I’m excited! A whole weekend hanging out with David, a hotel with a pool and fitness center, wine tasting, shopping… plus, I figure if nothing else the hours of trash pick up will be good exercise! I actually worked festivals at the local winery when I was in high school, so this will be kind of nostalgic for me. It is fun to see drunk yuppies falling all over the place!
