Carina’s description of the weekend!

Carina sent me a copy of the email she sent her coworkers about the weekend… I had to share, its too funny! (Hopefully you can see the pictures, my first attempt didn’t work.)

I know you’re dying to see pictures of dogs and children!  Penny and I had a great time in Virginia (strictly speaking, I think I had a better time than Penny, but she doesn’t complain too loudly).  The kids loved her.  Lily wanted to love her, but Penny wasn’t really up for the antics of a 5-month-old puppy.  She showed extreme patience most of the time.  The cats neither loved her nor wanted to love her and I spent a fair amount of time manhandling Penny away from one or more demonically hissing cats.  It would have been fine if they’d have just LET her sniff them…

Lessons learned:

1) Penny + cats = pain + suffering
2) Penny + indoor birthday with at least 10 children = model of good behavior
3) at t < 2 days: Penny + 5-month-old hyperactive puppy = infinite patience
4) at t > 2 days: Penny + 5-month-old hyperactive puppy = zero patience

Awwww…  Look how cute and peaceful Lily is…

DO NOT BE FOOLED!  She was in this position for all of 30 seconds.  This is more like it (stealing children’s toys):

And gnawing on children’s toys:

Ellie was too busy eating flour by the handful to notice that Penny had her dragon.

And what was my darling well-behaved Penny doing during this crazy time, you may ask?

Anyway, Killy had a great birthday party.  He had this super sweet Transformers cake (which incidentally looked frighteningly like a clown after the initial decoration, so David had to make an emergency trip to the store to get black gel icing).

He declared the fishing pole his favorite present.  This is him (King for a Day) saying thanks to my Dad.  Later he said, “Tell Ray that the next time I come visit I will bring my own fishing pole!”

After the other kids left, Killy and Ellie played in their new spiral sprinkler.  It shot balls out of the top on a jet of water.

Of course, I had to save the best for last.  Here is the cutest dog in the world with the cutest little girl in the world wearing the cutest bathing suit in the world.  Try not to melt into a puddle at your desk!

OMG, they’re so cute that I have to show you another picture!
