The kids wanted to get Lily and Trixie together to play, so we did today.  I think the dogs had a lovely time together!  Seeing them side-by-side I could finally really see the beagle in Lily.  She is going to be a whole lot bigger than Trixie – Trixie is only 17 lbs (full-grown), and Lily is only 3.5 months old and almost 20 lbs.  So, I’m guessing Lily will be 40-50 lbs as an adult.  I guess that’s the Golden Retriever in her!

And, here’s an alternative to crating your dog in the car.  I bought this leash from Amazon and its wonderful!  It has a very comfortable handle, its the perfect length (3 feet), and it has a seat belt clip so you can buckle your dog in!  I need to get a harness for Lily to make it safer for her, but my main goal was making sure that she couldn’t crush one of the children if we were in a wreck.

Oh, and I couldn’t resist taking this picture… Boys will be boys, apparently.  Especially when they grow up in the country.
