shaking up the routine

So, I’m always trying to change around my fitness/workout routine a bit, to keep improving myself.  I just read Body for Life and am trying to incorporate a few of its ideas.  I’ve started working out on an empty stomach instead of working out right after lunch – according to the author you burn 300% more fat that way.  (I don’t know that I buy that, but I’ll give it a try for a few weeks.)  The author also recommends when doing cardio that you do intinsifying intervals, and while I typically do interval training several days a week this is a little different.  I really liked it today!  I did 45 minutes of weight lifting, 20 minutes of the intinsifying intervals on the treadmill and then another 20 minutes of it on the eliptical machine.  So far this month I’ve worked out over 1700 minutes and I’ve lost about 8 lbs!

Now, I need to get back to catching up on laundry.  I’ve got dinner in the crockpot (chicken-veggie-rice soup) so I really have no excuse not to spend the rest of the afternoon doing housework…
