Coming home after vacation is always a little sad, but it helps to have the excitement of school starting this week!  The kids are really excited to start back at their sweet little hippie school on Tuesday (half-day orientation on Tuesday, full day on Wednesday).  The ride home today was long but uneventful, luckily.

I’m planning on doing a few posts with lots of pictures over the next couple of days, but first I’ll share the saga of The Beach Family Portrait.  One of my goals this week was to get one good picture of the four of us on the beach to put in a frame on the mantle.

The first attempt looked like this:

Okay, actually Auntie took about 10 pictures and this was – sadly! – the best of them.  Oh, well, we’ll just try again…

Again, ALMOST a good picture but not quite.  Then, this was the best of the the third round of the week:

This one was pretty good, but taken from such a distance that this is the already cropped version and I would barely be able to get a 4×6 of it printed.

Finally, our last day on the beach, as we were about to go head to the beach house, I got my dad to try one final time.  Success!!!
