yay!

What a fun day!  This morning after making the Friendship Bread (which turned out great, by the way), I dropped the kids off with my parents and ran errands, took a nice long run, we all had lunch together and then drove to Galax, I got in a nice bike ride while there, we hung out with Grandmommy and Pop-Pop and Nana, then we came back to my parents house and my mom fixed Beef and Dumplings for dinner.  If you’ve never tried Beef and Dumplings you just don’t know what you’re missing!  Once you do it, you’ll never bother with chicken and dumplings again.  Just use stew beef in place of chicken – its so simple.

Yet again, I’m exhausted and about to head off to bed… I’ll just share a couple cute stories first.  Ellie has decided that she’s terrified of lightening bugs!  I have no idea why, but she was actually trembling tonight when she told me, “I scared of lightening bugs!”  Poor little thing!  She’s usually asleep before its dark, though, so it shouldn’t cause her too much suffering this summer.  Killy was very cute at my parents house and was playing with a funnoodle, shaping it into different letters and joyfully calling out, “Look!  I’m an O!  I’m a J!  I’m a I!”  Yesterday we ran into my parent’s pastor’s wife in C-burg, and she called him “son.”  He immediately said, “My name is Killian!” She explained that she knew his name was Killian, she had just called him son.  And he said, “I am my mother’s son!”
