pain and suffering
Today I went shopping with Ellie this morning and had a lovely time! Lunch with my mom, a trip to the library, off to school for a birthday party, curry for dinner, played with the kids, worked on my quilt, worked out. Sounds perfect right? Till you consider the facts that:
(1) The store-that-must-not-be-named in C-burg is closing its fabric department. I’m distraught over this, though it was lessened a bit by the fact that all remaining fabric was 50% off and I loaded up.
(2) I had to talk to the account to figure out how to file some tax documents. Bleah. (She’s very helpful, but having to deal with this stuff stresses me out beyond all reason.)
(3) No one liked the curry I made for dinner. Killy didn’t want to even try it, and I said cheerfully, “Look! Ellie loves it!” just in time for Ellie to spit her bite back into her bowl.
(4) This quilt is turning out to be about 1000 times more labor intensive than I expected. Jeans are darn hard to cut up, and I’m not getting as much fabric out of them as I’d hoped. I’m going to have to buy a yard or two of denim to supplement the jeans.
(5) I haven’t been doing pilates on a regular basis since before having kids. I warned David that since I did 30 minutes tonight, he’ll probably have to roll me out of bed because my abs will be too sore for me to sit up tomorrow morning.
(6) My planting early gamble is not going to pay off. Frost expected tonight. Oh, well!
I am, of course, mostly teasing with all my complaining. All in all, it was a great day and I’m feeling good – the sore-good feeling after an intense workout, that is!
