tired!

Today Mom and Erin and I took the kids to the Hillsville Fleamarket.  On Labor Day Weekend its a really huge event, supposedly its the biggest fleamarket in the country or something, but they do a smaller version on Memorial Day Weekend, too.  I bought a dress and a pretty shirt, Mom got Killy a butterfly net and she got Ellie a dress.  The most exciting part, though, was sharing a funnel cake with the kids!  We explained funnel cakes to Killy last night as “a donut cake as big as an elephant’s ear!” and he was really excited, and it lived up.  When he told David about it later, he said, “It was my favorite cake in the whole world, Daddy!”

Killy’s other funny comment of the day was when he saw the kitchen this morning.  Our new dishwasher was delivered yesterday and David and Dad worked on it all evening last night and all day today.  The kitchen was a mess this morning and Killy said, “Oh, my!  Daddy, daddy, daddy… what happened?” in a very exasperated voice.

I didn’t get to work on my garden much today, but we had a really hard rainstorm this afternoon, so it should be easy to finish up tomorrow morning.  Then I can till it and plant!  I’m planning to plant: yellow corn, lots of tomatoes, yellow squash and butternut squash, eggplant, cucumber, sugar snap peas, several types of peppers, a few types of melons, red cabbage, lettuce, kale, and mustard greens.  I hope I can fit it all in!
