typical Monday
Today’s activities: took Erin to work, took the kids to the park and we played for an hour and a half, we went to my exercise class (Killy did all the exercises with us again!), played at the park some more, came home and fixed lunch, the kids napped, I paid bills, I baked pumpkin-cranberry muffins, I folded laundry, we played in the backyard, picked Erin up from work, I tried to mow but ended up making an appointment to have the mower fixed instead, made dinner, bathed the kids, and watched tv. Whew! Dinner was okay: roasted eggplant which only Ellie liked, spaghetti squash for me and the kids and regular spaghetti for David and Erin, and garlic brown rice. I’ve decided that I do really like spaghetti squash – its so much fun! And, its practically like pasta without the guilt! A little bit of butter, salt and pepper, and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese and its great! Yes – you all heard me, I even ate about 2 tsp of parmesan cheese! Ellie’s dairy sensitivity is getting a lot better! I can occasionally have a little bit of cheese! I’ve decided I’m just going to avoid cow’s milk until she weans, and I’ll try to keep cheese to a bare minimum… but its nice to be able to eat breads and breakfast cereals (with rice milk, of course) and other normal food again.
So, some funny moments from the day:
When I told Killy that his lunch – a peanut butter, jelly, and wheat germ sandwhich on whole wheat bread – was ready, he asked if his dinosaur could come eat with him!

When I went to wake the kids up from naptime, my heart nearly stopped – Ellie was lying face down on the floor! She woke up quite happily, though. I think she started to wake up, got off the couch, and then decided to go back to sleep on the floor. All while being so quiet as not to alert me in the next room! Here was my view:

And, here’s a sweet picture of the kids sharing some pita chips the other day:
