Yay!
The weather is finally better! I don’t think it got above 79 degrees today! It was lovely! Literally the first day in months that it hasn’t hit 80. Heck, I don’t think we had very many days in July that didn’t hit 100 degrees! Anyway, it was so nice that I went for a long walk with the kids this morning, and then David and I walked to the video store this evening. So, I did 120 minutes of exercise today – go me! My total for the month is 1,375 minutes of exercise so far – and I still have a few days left! I’m aiming for at least 1500 now.
Of course, I also ate like a little piggy today: avacado and flaxseed sandwhich for breakfast, pomegranate for a snack, pbj and salsa and chips for lunch, and (hanging head in shame here) Long John Silver’s for dinner. So, I got a couple pomegrantates at the grocery store this week because they were on sale, and they had a little sign under them that said “Pomegranate – the miracle fruit!” I’m assuming the miracle is a high level of antioxidants, but after eating one, I’ve decided that the true miracle is that anyone ever buys a second one. They are so much work! You pick out all the seeds, suck the juicey pulpy covering off the seeds and then spit them out. And that’s it. And they stain anything and everything they touch! Good thing I wore one of my least favorite shirts today!
I also bought several bandanas this morning, and some fabric to make a few bandanas which I promptly sewed up as soon as I got home. I’ve decided that I’ll try wearing them over my hair for awhile, and see how I like it. Its really convienient – I did that today and it was nice having my hair out of my face all day. I figured David would HATE it, but he says its cute.
Killy is talking up a storm! He now refers to himself as “Keelly” all the time, which is too cute. He’s also gotten really good about apologizing to Ellie when he gets too rough with her. And, he built an airplane with legos the other day! I thought that was pretty darn cool for a two year old.
Ellie seems to have cut another tooth. She was super-fussy all day, and I figured either she was teething or had decided she hates me. Luckily, it seems to be teething…
