We attempted our 8-mile hike today, but we only got to do about 3 miles.  Ellie was fussy so we turned back early.  It was such a beautiful day today!  It was in the 60s, sunny, and with a lovely breeze.  Killy took a nap, then we played in the backyard for awhile.  Its been a pretty fun day, overall.  I even got to go out for a few minutes sans children to do a little shopping.  (Wow, my life seems kind of sad when its a big treat to go buy a trashcan at Walmart by myself.)  And, to clarify – its not that I don’t LOVE spending time with Killy and Ellie, it just that every once in awhile I like to have an hour or two to myself.  Plus, it gives David and the kids some time to play without me hanging around.  Dads and kids have such a special fun relationship – it seems like kids love to cuddle with Mommy and roughhouse with Daddy.  At least that’s how it is with David and Killy!
