catching upv

I added a few new pictures to the gallery – I know a lot of you have been waiting for pictures of Ellie! Sorry, but being online has not been a priority the last few days… Here’s just a few points I’ll update everyone on:

-David’s doing much better. He finished his round of antibiotics today and is feeling much more alive.

-Ellie is doing great! At her two week well-baby-visit she was 8lbs 11oz and 20.25 inches long. She was at the 75th percentile for height, weight, and head circumferance. The pediatrician said she was doing so great she doesn’t need to go back till she’s 2 months old, meaning we get to skip the one month appt. Cool!

-Killy is all over his cold, and adjusting very well to life with a little sister. He totally doesn’t understand his own strength, though, and has to be reminded to be gentle with Ellie (and with Mommy!). He gives her hugs and kisses and even tries to pick her up to hug her now. He also gets very worried when she cries, which is luckily very rarely. Killy had to have blood drawn today to check his iron levels before his 18 month well child visit on Thursday and it was very traumatic for both of us, sadly…

-I’m doing okay. I’m just exhausted from never getting more than about three consecutive hours of sleep and nursing two babies. Killy’s starting to nurse less, though, so I think I’ll get some of my energy back soon. (When a new baby is born, usually a nursing toddler will want to nurse A LOT at first.) I seem to have escaped this death-cold-virus that Killy gave David – and luckily Ellie escaped it too, it seems!

-We took our Christmas family portrait yesterday – once David does a little editing on it to correct the lighting I’ll post it. It turned out okay – Killy was not terribly cooperative…
