I’ve been tagged by Sarah!

10 years ago I was: 15 and about to start my Junior year of high school. I was also starting half-days at Govenor’s School, and I met David at the orientation there. It was a very stressful year in that I broke up with my boyfriend of 2.5 years, started taking college level classes at Gov school, and was also juggling band, being captain of the majorettes, being captain of Science MACC (academic comptetion), and just all the other stuff that 15-16 year olds have to do.

5 years ago I was: starting my senior year of college. That was a fabulous year! I’d just finished my summer stint of being on Squirrel Team Six, which was probably the best summer job ever and I continued doing research for the professor through the year. I also worked 20+ hours a week at a children’s museum and found that was my calling. I took classes I was interested in and had a job I loved and was doing research that was really fun. I made Dean’s List both semesters! I was also planning my wedding, and that was really the only stressful part of the year.

1 year ago I was: enjoying being a new mom! Killy was still a little 3-month-old, and we had just settled into our first house.

Yesterday: was a busy day! David ran errands with me and we did lots of stuff around the house. I swear, David’s got the pregnancy nesting now! Probably the coolest part of yesterday was when David installed the new light fixture in our dining room. The room is so bright and cheerful now! Here’s a picture:

5 snacks I enjoy: yogurt with wheat germ, lettuce and tomato sandwhiches, watermelon, cheddar cheese quesadillas, and (of course!) Ben and Jerry’s ice cream!

5 songs I know all the words to: any BareNaked Ladies song – duh!

5 things I would do with 100 million dollars: pay off all debts for everyone in our immediate family (student loans, mortgages, cars, credit cards, etc) set up a trust fund to provide for my family for several generations, give a ton of money to whatever local Montessori school I send my kids to, give a ton of money to the Govenor’s School where David and I went, and give money to the children’s museums I’ve worked at

5 places I would run away to: Italy, New Zealand, New Harmonie Indiana, Okaloosa Island, pre-Katrina New Orleans

5 things I would never wear: those shorts with writing on the butt (good call, Sarah!), a thong bikini, daisy duke shorts, any item of clothing with a Dinsey logo, a frilly prom dress

5 favorite tv shows: Daily Show, CNN Headline News, Firefly, Buffy, House

5 bad habits: biting my nails, staying up too late on the Internet, obsessing about my weight and excercise, NOT cleaning the living room every night before bed, nagging poor David

5 biggest joys: Killy, David, my family, my friends, my faith

5 favorite toys: computer/internet, sewing machine, cell phone, wok, the new minivan

5 fictional characters I would date: hmmm… that one is hard! I don’t read much fiction so I’ll have to pass. Edited to add: okay, David pointed out that I can use tv/movie characters, so this is a lot easier: Dr. House (from the tv show House – is it weird that I like a mean old man?), Spike (from Buffy – James Marsters is sooo hot!), Rhett Butler (Clark Gable – clang, clang! did that make you smile, Miss Carina?), George Emerson (Julian Sands in “A Room With a View”), Dr. Stanley Goodspeed (Nic Cage in The Rock – a hot biochemist, enough said)
