Bedrest
So, I guess its not actually bed-rest because I don’t have to be lying down all the time. I’m supposed to be off my feet, which means that I can still sit at the computer. I’ve actually gotten quite a bit done today! I’m trying to get ahead on bills, business reports/tax filings, etc so that when I end up at the hospital I don’t have to be worrying about things being done. I’m also working on grants for the museum – I finished two reports today and they’re ready to mail off. It is frustrating to have to try to limit myself from the stairs – with three levels in the townhouse I’m used to running up and down them all day. I’ve prettymuch been camped out at the computer in the basement or on the couch on the main floor. (That couch is perfect, though, if you take the back cushion off its the size of a twin bed! Very good for napping during the day, and roomy enough to get some work done without feeling too constricted.) The baby has been moving around a lot today and I think the baby inherited my infamous pinching toes! The baby lies with its head down jutting against the inside of my left hip joint, its butt up to the right of my belly button just under my ribs, and uses its toes to poke and pinch my left side. The midwife yesterday couldn’t believe how active the baby was and how much it kept moving all its limbs around – she said if she didn’t know better she’d guess there was more than one! Don’t anyone worry, though, it is just one baby – confirmed by two ultrasounds. (And, no, there’s not any extra limbs, either!)
One update on the house: Our buyers agent called today so we could do a final tweaking of the offer, at the banks’ request. We went up a little bit, but are still asking them to cover some taxes and closing costs. We should find out Thursday if we have the house!! Please wish us luck!
If we get this house, here’s the schedule for the next couple months: close on the house May 17th, spend about 4 weeks doing the updating/repairs it needs (windows, floors, roof), and move in either June 12-13 or June 19-20. At this point it seems that the baby will be arriving before the closing!
